The Java Institute for Advanced Technology conducted a unique mountaineering expedition to the Devil’s Staircase with the participation of our undergraduates on the 11th and 12th of February 2023. A total of 300 undergraduates from various branches of Java Institute and Athena Academy – Colombo, Gampaha, Kandy, Kurunegala, Bandarawela, and Matara joined this adventurous hike.
The route of this hike included the destination of Ohiya and overall, the total distance of the hike was 30 kilometres. Accordingly, this hike was challenging and required high endurance capabilities as the pathway was tough. Stamina, strength, and other physical attributes of the undergraduates were tested, and this enabled the participants to engage in a valuable experience.
